With Christmas fast approaching, searches
and bookings from consumers wanting to spend
the festive break out of the UK are on the
rise, according to lowcostholidays.com, the
low cost holiday experts.
There has been a 120% increase year on year
in the number of customers searching for
Christmas holidays and overall bookings for
Christmas are up 100% year on year.
Top selling Christmas holiday destinations
include Egypt, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Costa
Blanca with bookings to Egypt leading the
way up a massive 125% year on year.
Commenting on the increase in Christmas
bookings, CEO Paul Evans said:
“For many of our customers, particularly
those who chose a wet ‘staycation’ this
summer, an escape from the doom and gloom of
the UK weather and recession this Christmas
is proving a very attractive option. We’re
working very closely with hoteliers to keep
the costs down as much as possible even with
the added gala meals that many offer at this
time of year."
Matt Hall, Head of Product at
lowcostholidays.com adds:
"Half board and all-inclusive packages
are proving even more popular than usual
over the Christmas week as holidaymakers
want to enjoy the heat of the beaches rather
than the kitchen.
We’ve got some great priced packages
available over the Christmas period with
Sharm El Sheikh proving to be the most
popular destination offering great quality
accommodation, guaranteed sunshine and a
wide range of all inclusive properties.
Bookings to New York, Florida and Mexico are
also popular over Christmas."
