Lowcost Travel Group has seen its sales more
than double in the past year.
Sales went up from £55,000,000 in 2007/08 to
£109,000,000 in the year ending October 31.
All inclusive sales rose to account for 36%
of total accommodation-only business, a rise
in share of 14% as
consumers sought greater value and certainty
from their travel budgets, according to the
company.
September is now the largest volume month
for travel with May and June increasing in
share by 2% year on
year while the peak summer months of July
and August were down.
Growth has been seen in a number of key
destinations, including: Egypt +229%, Turkey
+144%, Crete +142%,
Majorca +118% and Costa Blanca +90%.
In addition to the overall performance, the
group’s holiday transfer company
Resorthoppa, set a new record
in carrying more than one million passengers
in the 12 month period.
Resorthoppa's key areas for growth have been
the key gateways of Palma, Gerona and
Alicante.
Group CEO Paul Evans said:
"We are immensely proud of our
achievements this year, in a very tough
environment we have well exceeded all of our
expectations.
Looking ahead, we are optimistic about 2010,
we have some great relationships overseas
which are securing even better rates, we
continue to win new customers, our complaint
ratio is less than one per cent and we have
some exciting new products to offer the
market next year."
Trade sales director Tim Buckman added:
"Our technology has been flawless, our
pricing extremely competitive, we have
invested in our trade sales team to offer
our customers even more support in helping
them grow their businesses.
We have also developed new websites for both
Resorthoppa and lowcostbeds.com to enhance
