The lowcost travelgroup has reported a strong
lates market in the UK, with the value of
transactions up 108% year on year and
bookings up 122% since May 1.
The figures come on the back of improved
half-year results for lowcost travel for the
six months to the end of April, with the
group reporting a 120% year-on-year jump in
transaction revenue to £35.4 million.
Pre-tax earnings were £608,000 compared with
a loss of £105,000 in the same period a year
ago.
The figures include a contribution from
transfer business ResortHoppa, acquired by
lowcost travel in January. Like-for-like
figures for lowcostholidays and lowcostbeds
show revenue up 90% on a year ago to £30.5
million and passengers up 85% to 164,344.
Chief executive Paul Evans said the groups
trade and consumer businesses were both
working well and forecasts had been upgraded
in line with the figures.
